Construction industry digitizes invoicing with Unifiedpost

Terhulpen, Belgium - Oct. 10, 2022 - In times of significant personnel and raw material shortages, the digitization of invoice flows can mean a welcome administrative relief for a lot of companies, not least for contractors and their suppliers. That is why Embuild, the Belgian professional federation that unites more than 16,000 construction companies, is offering its members a digital invoicing platform. To this end, it has partnered with e-invoicing specialist Unifiedpost.

Starting today, Embuild is offering its 16,000 members the digital invoicing platform Billtobox , developed by Unifiedpost. This platform helps construction companies manage invoices and payments easily and efficiently, reduces administrative burdens, and prepares them for future e-invoicing obligations. Discover more about this partnership and the benefits for the construction sector. In its mission to support the construction sector in its further professionalization and digitization, professional federation Embuild offers as from today its 16,000 members the digital invoicing platform Billtobox, developed by Unifiedpost, in order to exchange documents electronically, primarily invoices. This not only significantly reduces the administrative burden. The platform also allows payments to be made smoothly and cash management to be organized. Moreover, they are also prepared for upcoming obligations regarding B2B e-invoicing.

Initially, the focus will be on sending, receiving and paying invoices. Billtobox was developed for SMEs, and allows wholesale shippers such as insurance, automotive, leasing, utility and staffing companies to deliver documents to users. Moreover, it is an open platform, so it can be easily connected to any existing accounting and ERP software of the users.

With Unifiedpost, Embuild opts for a Belgian and listed partner, which has existed for more than twenty years and already has a strong presence on the Belgian market with its platform Billtobox. Embuild also joins the list of Belgian professional federations with which Unifiedpost has been collaborating for years now, such as the ITAA (professional federation of accountants), Federgon (professional federation of HR service providers such as temporary employment agencies) and Assuralia (professional association of insurance companies). In fact, the company is already doing the same for its northern neighbors with Bouwend Nederland, and also provides e-invoicing platforms for countries such as Serbia and France, for example. Unifiedpost employs more than 1,400 people in 32 countries.

Niko Demeester, CEO of Embuild: "The construction sector today faces many challenges in terms of personnel and raw material shortages. Administrative simplification through the digitization and automatic processing of invoices in a complex environment of large and small contractors and their suppliers represents a great added value for our more than 16,000 members. Moreover, the platform also allows them to easily pay the invoices, which ensures a clear and thus more efficient cash management. Not unimportant, especially for SMEs, in the current economic climate, especially since digital invoicing will gradually become mandatory for public procurement from November 1, 2022."

Phillippe Kimpe, CEO BeLux of Unifiedpost Group: "We are obviously delighted that one of the most important sector federations in Belgium has joined forces with us. By working directly with the construction sector, and the business community as a whole, we are lowering the barriers to digitization and administrative simplification. Construction companies face many challenges today, while their entrepreneurship is crucial to keeping our economy afloat. Moreover, by adding an essential sector like construction to its network, Unifiedpost is already greatly increasing the connectivity of both its already connected and future users."

Luc Caubergh, Sales Director Corporates of Unifiedpost Group, continues: "With this collaboration we support contractors and their suppliers in their digitalization process and in the general trend towards professionalization. Together with Embuild we can connect and communicate with an entire sector through our digital network. Our users can also invoice governments today.
